Tourists to rent London homes during royal wedding

Friday, 11 February 2011 9:18 AM

Newly launched travel website, iStopOver.com has announced it will be helping travellers source short term London rental properties during the royal wedding.

As well as being a cost effective alternative to pricey hotels for visiting tourists, the web portal also enables homeowners to generate extra income through short term rent of their rooms or homes.

And iStopOver has made it easier for travellers to navigate the capital by creating a destination site specific to the Royal Wedding.

Using social media interaction, travellers can securely seek out rooms based on a home-away-from-home philosophy, and amenities that the hosts offer, such as their favourite champagne on ice, movies for the DVD, and rides to and from Westminster Abbey.

Hosts make all the arrangements with their guests before they arrive and iStopOver acts as the connecting marketplace and financial clearinghouse.

Anthony Lipschitz, CEO and co-founder of iStopOver.com, said: “With accommodations that are priced well below average hotel rooms, renting a room on iStopOver offers real value.”

“In many cases, it gives travellers the opportunity to live like a local.”
