Do your bit to raise money for riot-affected shopkeepers

Friday, 19 August 2011 1:00 PM

If you, like many people in the UK, were appalled by the recent rioting and looting, you can now do your bit to help out the shopkeepers and homeowners affected. More than 80 designer makers, artists, photographers and other independent businesses have united to donate prizes for Riot Raffle.

The Riot Raffle website is now live with all prizes listed. Browse the images, descriptions and business links then decide which artwork you want to bid on.

The donations will be handled by the Retail Trust, who are helping shopkeepers in London and across the UK rebuild their businesses after the destruction of the looting and vandalism during the riots.

The charity event is the brainchild of Zoe Grant of Zoe & Drew (www.zoeanddrew.blogspot.com) who came up with the idea of holding a charity raffle.

Within hours of suggesting the idea over 30 independent businesses had pledged prizes and Zoe Brown, Managing Director of Bwebsites (www.bwebsites.co.uk) had kindly offered to design the website.
