Lighting designer offers seaside inspiration

Bring a touch of the sea to your living room with this nautical lampshade, which has a shell-like structure and uses innovative materials for extra glow. The Nautica lampshade from Kaigami is now on sale with All Up and On, priced at a reasonable £44.95.

It's held together with polypropylene studs, without which the entire Kaigami style would be impossible. The ribbed structure gives out a playful pattern of light and shade, leading to a subtle, bright lighting effect that is as contemporary as the structure.

The brains behind the design, Guillaume Lyons, graduated from Goldsmiths College and has spent several years developing the Kaigami style. He is based in Brighton, which explains the seaside inspiration for the collection.

In all, there are eight Kaigami designs available, which can be grouped together for added impact or used throughout your urban pad.
