The new Wafer Chair from Molteni&C is a perfect solution for compact, yet comfortable extra seating. The new design combines innovative material and techniques from the automotive industry.

The new chair is on display in Molteni&C’s flagship London store, and this Friday (November 19), company founder Monica Armani will be visiting the store to talk about its design and inception.

The concept behind the Wafer design is that a light, stackable chair should also be comfortable. To achieve this, traditional solid wood workmanship is combined with modern technology.

The upholstered components contain Wood-Stock, an innovative material used largely in the automotive industry, which is completely recyclable and ecological.

In fact, the upholstered seating and back are manufactured by means of a single mould operation which allows for great softness and lightness.

The Wafer chair is available with an open-grain lacquer finish, grey oak, dark oak, wenge and American walnut. The seat and back are upholstered in a range of ecological fabrics and leathers, which are stain resistant.
